Light Asia 2015 was a lighting workshop organized by LED manufacturer KKDC. For this workshop, a number of lighting designers from different countries were invited to teach basic lighting concepts to students from the Architectural Faculty of Yeungnam University. The workshop included a practical approach, lighting a folk village located in the heart of the campus.

From site studies, it was found that Building 6 ILHUYNDANG was originally used as a school. When discussing the lighting concept to present to faculty professors, the students were inspired by the idea of enlightenment. Considering the floating nature of the building, the students proposed a new lighting concept, where the building was seen as a glowing lantern of knowledge.
